"On a warm summer morning in 2023 in Kabul, Afghanistan, I applied for an online English class. After taking several tests, I was accepted into the program. Being part of that class opened doors for me to join other courses, such as Digital Literacy and later resilience classes. Looking back, those were the fundamental skills I needed to communicate with the outside world.

I found the resilience classes especially interesting and meaningful, so I asked to join them every year they were offered. That is how I stayed connected with my dear teacher, Robin Higgins, who guided us in well-being and mindfulness.

My educational journey did not stop there. I continued studying at an online school and eventually graduated. Then, I applied to a university in Indonesia. It had always been my dream to meet Kaaj members in person, and finally, that dream was coming true.

As Robin and I stayed in touch, we planned to meet when possible. After some time, she invited me to Bali, an island in Indonesia. While traveling from Jakarta to Bali, I kept thinking how lucky I was to finally meet her".

When we met in March 2026, I truly understood what love means, a deep care for all human beings, given without expectations. Being part of the Kaaj family has been one of the most beautiful parts of my life: a supportive community that stands by each other, even in the darkest times".
